The Canada
goose is the most familiar and numerous species of goose in North
America. They mate for life and are excellent parents. Although
goslings leave the nest about 24 hours after hatching, this portrait
shows a gosling enjoying the warmth and protection of its mother,
not quite ready to leave its "Downy Comfort."
